Hi, I’m Hakan, a passionate design and user experience researcher with an academic background in mental models and behavior change. I hold a PhD in international relations and doctorate research degree in cognitive psychology.
My approach is simple, collaborative and solution-oriented.
I’m very comfortable both with qualitative research methods such as interviewing, usability testing and field research as well as quantitative approaches including survey research, A/B testing, card sorting, information architecture, benchmarking and so on.
I’ve spent the last seven years developing my skills as a senior/principal UX researcher both for client-side and in-house roles. I’ve set up and conducted a wide range of user research in the UK, Scotland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Japan, Singapore, Germany and Austria and provided a full suite of services including user and design research, information architecture, content strategy and usability testing. I’m experienced working with translators, local recruitment, design and research agencies.
I'm currently working as UX Research Lead at everis UK. At the same time, I'm doing post-doctoral fellowship at Regent's University London and an academic research project for mental models of end users engaged in the blockchain technology in the fin-tech market. The results of this research will be disseminated in an SSCI academic journal in late 2020.
